
The Nss Is Part of the Development of Youth Affairs and Sports under the Ministry of Human Resources Development and Sports, Government of India. The Nss Has Been Launched in Colleges and Universities All Over India in Gandhi’s Centenary Year. It Was Started With the Aim to Orient the Students on the Social Needs by Involving Them in Service to the Community.

A Student Volunteer on the Completion of 240 Hrs of Work and Participation in a Special Camp During the Course of Two Years Is Eligible for NSS Certificate From the University. This Certificate Gives Weightage for Higher Studies and Is an Additional Qualification for Appointment in Public Services.
Motto
- The Motto of Nss Is ❝Not Me but You❞. This Reflects the Essence of Democratic Living and Upholds the Need for Selfless Service and Appreciation of the Other Person’s Point of View and Also to Show Consideration for Fellow Human Beings.

Objectives
- The broad objectives of NSS are to:-
- Understand the community in which they work.
- Understand themselves in relation to their community.
- Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem solving process.
- Develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility.
- Utilize their knowledge in finding practical solution to individual and community problems.
- Develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities.
- Gain skills in mobilizing community participation.
- Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude.
- Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disaster and Practise national integration and social harmony.
The National Service Scheme Started Functioning at Providence From the Year 1982. The College Has Two Units and 200 Students Render Service to the Society Through the Scheme Every Year. The Volunteers Participate in All Government Programmes, Render Service to the College Adopted Villages and Create Awareness to the Public on Various Social Issues.
