Eligibility
A pass in the Higher Secondary of Government of Tamil Nadu or any of the following Examinations :-
- Pre-University Examination of all recognized Statutory Universities, any Boards of Higher Secondary Schools and of Intermediate Education in India are recognized as equivalent to the PRE-University Examination of this university subject to the age rules.
 - First year examination(Arts and Science and Commerce) conducted by the University of Bombay.
 - The All India Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education,New Delhi will be recognized as equivalent to the Pre-University Examination of this University for purpose of admission to a degree course provided the candidate has been declared to have qualified at one sitting with minimum of five subjects for the course concerned, of which English should be one.
 - Indian School Certificate Examination from March 1964 or subsequent years will be recognized as equivalent to the Pre-University Examination of the University for purpose of admission to a degree course provided the candidates has been declared to have qualified at one sitting with a minimum of five subjects for the course concerned, of which English should be one.
 - Pre-University, Pre-Degree course (both two years course) of the University of Banglore, University of Mysore, University of Calicut and University of Cochin.
 - B.Com. – student should obtain 50% of marks in +2.
 
Rules Of Admission
Application for admission to these courses should be submitted to the principal within ten days after the publication of the latest results qualifying for these courses.
All applications for admission to the B.Com. and B.A/B.Sc. Degree course should be accompanied by the attested copy of the statement of marks obtained in the respected qualifying examination, TC and Community Certificate.
NOTE: Application not accompanied by properly authenticated copies of marks will not be considered.
Students coming from other University areas.
Candidates who have passed qualifying examinations of other Universities/Bodies have to submit applications to the University for obtaining formal recognition of Examination passed by them for admission in the respective courses. These application shall be sent through the Principal after admission. They have to produce statement of marks and pass/Provisional Certificates along with other Certificates at the time of admission if the Pass/Provisional Certificates are not available at the time of admission they shall be submitted as early as possible.
Until such time the formal recognition is obtained from the University the admission of such candidates shall be provisional. In case the University does not recognize a particular Examination the admission shall be provisional subject to the approval of the university.
Bharathiar University does not insist on the production of Migration Certificate.
Application should be submitted within 10 days after the results. The list of selected candidates will be put up on the notice board of the College. Application received after 10 days for publication of the Pre-University examination result will be considered but no guarantee can be given regarding admission.
